Computerworld has posted a special report on the winners of their first annual "Horizon Awards." PubSub.com is one of the winners and they profile us in their story: "PubSub Concepts' Prospective Search Search Tool for Tomorrow". I particluarly enjoyed the way the profile began:
"Imagine a search engine that doesn't deal in the present but watches the future. It doesn't delve through events that have happened; it gazes beyond the present to know what will happen and alert you to it. While PubSub Prospective Search by PubSub Concepts Inc. in New York doesn't go quite that far, the company has come up with a clever capability."
Also, Charlene Li of Forrester made an interesting comment in the article:
"In the past, you browsed, whereas now you can gain access as new material appears," says Charlene Li, an analyst at Forrester Research Inc. "It requires a change in the way people look at information -- like having a concierge service for information you want to see that comes up in the future."
Gus Tai, of Trinity Ventures provides additional commentary on his blog.
Of course, it has often been noted that being recognized as the "wave of the future" in trade publications is often the kiss of death for a startup company. :-) That's a tradition that we'll be doing our best to change!
